FAQs

Do I need a loading phase?

No. Taking your daily serving consistently gradually tops up the creatine stored in your muscles over around three to four weeks. A loading phase (around 20 g a day for a week) gets there faster, but it isn't needed, and larger single doses are more likely to upset your stomach.

Should I take it before or after training?

Whenever suits you best. Studies comparing creatine taken just before or just after training have found similar results, and expert reviews conclude that taking it consistently every day matters more than the exact timing. On rest days, take your serving at any convenient time. Many people find it easiest to have it with a meal.

I missed a day. Should I double up?

No need to double up. Creatine works by gradually topping up the creatine stored in your muscles, and those stores fall slowly. Studies show they take around four to six weeks to return to normal after stopping completely, so one missed day makes very little difference. Just take your usual serving the next day and carry on. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.

Will creatine make me bloated or gain weight?

Some people notice a small rise in weight in the first week or so, mostly water held in the muscles. It's seen mainly with high-dose β€œloading” of around 20 g a day. Studies using lower daily amounts over several weeks have generally not found meaningful changes in body water, and research has not found that creatine increases body fat. Large single doses (10 g or more) are more likely to upset the stomach; our recommended daily serving is well below that.

Can I take it with coffee?

Yes, most people can. One small 1996 study suggested very high caffeine intakes might blunt creatine during a high-dose loading phase. Later studies using coffee or caffeine have not consistently found this, and a recent expert review concluded the two are unlikely to work against each other at normal intakes.

Creatine Plus Energy already contains 80 mg of caffeine per serving, roughly one espresso, so count it towards your daily total. General guidance for healthy adults is no more than 400 mg of caffeine a day, and 200 mg if you are pregnant. If coffee and creatine together upset your stomach, take them at different times of day.

Is creatine suitable for women?

Yes. Creatine has been studied in both men and women, and the same daily serving applies. Take it every day, including rest days; there is no need to time it to your cycle. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP before use.

Does creatine cause hair loss?

This worry comes from a single 2009 study of 20 rugby players taking high doses, which found a rise in DHT, a hormone linked to male-pattern hair loss. That study didn't measure hair. A 2025 randomised controlled trial in men taking 5 g a day for 12 weeks found no difference in DHT, hair density or hair thickness compared with a placebo. Research has not found that creatine causes hair loss, though studies are limited. If you're concerned about hair loss, speak to your GP.

Does creatine harm your kidneys?

Studies in healthy adults taking recommended amounts have not found that creatine harms kidney function. Creatine can raise creatinine, the marker used in routine blood tests to estimate kidney function, so results can appear lower than they really are. If you're having a kidney blood test, tell your doctor you take creatine. If you have a kidney condition, diabetes or high blood pressure, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under 18, speak to your GP before use.

Customer photo review of Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Could have more caffeine in it to make this a bit better! Warrior Creatine & Energy Powder is decent overall. The added caffeine is a nice touch, but at only 80mg it’s not really enough to replace a proper pre-workout, so you’ll probably still need something extra if you want that big boost. The creatine mixes well and gives a solid base for strength and recovery, but the flavour could be better. It does the job, just not quite as strong or convenient as I was hoping for.Does dissolve easily and doesn’t leave a residue on the cup. Good value for money though. Flavour: Unflavoured

Customer photo review of Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Good Hit of Caffeine. Add The Powder To Something Else To Disguise The Flavour. Summer with its heat and sweat can be a difficult time to find your energy - whether work or exercise related.I like my coffee just like most people, and in the morning it is my drink of choice. On an afternoon, during the post-prandial dip, coffee doesn't sound quite so appealing. I prefer a cold drink, but I still need that caffeine hit. This does seem to (just about) hit the mark. All those other ingredients, including the vitamins & creatine - as related to pre-workout - are in my opinion nonsense, and I shall be ignoring them.Creatine Monohydrate is a chemical used by the body to convert ADP to ATP. It is thus involved in the function of energy production all around the body, but is more particularly important in muscle. It helps muscle prepare for activity (storing that energy as Creatine in muscles), and may be involved in the recovery of muscles post exercise. There is some evidence that taking creatine supplements may help improve performance in high intensity exercise and may assist in increasing muscle bulk and strength. There is 4g of creatine in 1 scoop of this powder, which is a medium dose. The vitamins are all fine and good. This powder contains Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), and Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin). Unusually, it doesn't tell how much the milligram values contribute towards the daily requirement.Vitamin B3 16.5mg is 100% of the daily requirementVitamin B6 1.4mg is 100% of the daily requirementVitamin B12 1.5mcg is about 60% of the daily requirementI feel however that the effects of these supplements are so minuscule to the average person, that they won't make any meaningful difference to your exercise routine. If you are an Olympic athlete, then that supplement, along with a professional trainer and dietitian might give you an edge. In all other cases, adding these things to your diet 'in normal human beings' won't make a meaningful difference.Additionally, if you eat a healthy diet, you will get enough nutrients and vitamins, and you certainly won't need to supplement any extra vitamins at all. Fortunately, if you ingest more than your necessary level of vitamins, your body conveniently pees them out into the urine. I suspect the majority of the ingredients here will be pee'd out into the urine, without appreciable benefits.Caffeine on the other hand has proven benefits on energy levels and focus. Caffeine is the key ingredient here which is benefiting you during your workout. Caffeine has been shown to enhance cognitive function and feelings of mental alertness, mood, and arousal. It will perk you up if you are feeling drowsy, and may give you a bit of extra oomph even if you are just feeling normal. The dose here - in this mixture - is medium... 80mg in 1 scoop is the equivalent of 1 standard cup of strong coffee. As to the flavour - this one being unflavoured - I would say that the initial flavour is 'neutral'. However the caffeine flavour in the mixture does hit you eventually, and caffeine is a rather bitter taste. So, the flavour starts out as neutral, but becomes bitter at the end. I don't especially like it. My advice to other people is to get one of the flavoured versions, where this bitter end would be better disguised. You can also mix this in with something else, such as fruit-juice or a cordial. That's what I am going to do.Having drunk it, within 10 - 15 minutes I was feeling the effect of the caffeine kicking in. It definitely gave me an energy boost, and maybe also a boost in focus. For the future, I may mix a double dose of the powder in a shake and drink it gradually throughout the day.Price seems quite reasonable, especially considering that other similar mixtures (from other brands) are twice or three times the cost of this. Also, you are getting about the equivalent of 80 cups of coffee from the caffeine in it, so this is significantly cheaper than the price of instant coffee !! Flavour: Unflavoured

Tastes terrible, but it's not so bad when it's mixed into milk, though you do need to give it a good stir/shake. Personally not a fan, as I get a bad stomach after it

__ I’ve been using Warrior Creatine + Energy for a few weeks now, and it has quickly become a staple in my pre-workout routine. Unlike standard creatine powders, this blend provides a noticeable "kick" that helps me dominate every session. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Top quality stuff. I have used other Warrior products in the past and I have always been happy with them. This creatine powder continues that trend. With this being the unflavoured version I can't say much about the flavour or smell. Apart from that it tastes of nothing and doesn't smell of anything either - just what you'd expect! It mixes well very and doesn't leave any clumps or powdery taste.I have noticed a nice improvement in my energy during workouts and recovery seems to be better too.Because this is obviously high quality stuff, and because of the price and performance I can't hesitate to recommend it. Great pre-workout boost This is a great pre-workout boost and includes creatine which is great. It's nice and easy to mix and tastes good too. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Great brand Easy to mix, no weird taste, and gives a nice energy lift. If you’re working out, it helps with recovery and stamina. But even if you’re just taking it for general health or focus, it still feels like it’s doing something. The caffeine and vitamins give a clean kick without feeling shaky. Big tub, lasts ages. Solid choice if you want a bit of extra oomph in your day. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Definitely works, but tastes awful. While it's listed as 'unflavoured' the flavour is horrific, like a dissolved tablet, it's a task to take if just in water, but dissolving in something with a strong flavour does help.As you're going to be using it in colder liquids, it doesn't dissolve 100& but the texture isn't too bad.I was using this alongside starting lifting at the gym, and did notice an improvement in terms of increased weight and reps, There's also a noticeable improvement in 'pump' with muscles feeling larger and firmer. Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Decent product Warrior’s Creatine + Energy is positioned as a combined strength and energy support supplement: it delivers micronised creatine monohydrate plus a moderate caffeine dose and B-vitamins. Per serving (β‰ˆ4.5 g) in certain flavour versions you get ~3.0–3.5 g creatine monohydrate + ~80 mg caffeine + vitamins B3/B6/B12. The tub size is 360 g, giving around 80 servings.Key features the brand presents:- Creatine monohydrate (micronised) for strength, power, muscle support.- Caffeine for alertness and focus.- B-vitamins (B3, B6, B12) for supporting energy metabolism and fatigue reduction.- Easy-mix powder form, sugar-free (in at least certain flavours) and flavour options (Mixed Berry or Unflavoured) for versatility. No complaints works well Husband has been using this pre workout - and has no complaints at all.No taste/flavour. Mixes well and doesn’t clump at all.Good clean ingredients - and gives that boost pre workout.Good value - would recommend. Flavour: Unflavoured

Good brand and product I've used this brand before and satisfied with the results. Its a good quality brand, and great value for money. The solution mixes well without clumping as some do, would recommend. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Worth a try I've been looking into Creatine for a number of years and finally took the plunge because it's a brand that I trust. I'm not so bothered about the caffeine but it's a nice touch to have this as a pre-workout.It's too early to see results but it's cheap enough that it's worth trying Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

A very good mix of caffeine and creatine. I really like this mix of creatine and caffeine. It's a good balance for a pre-workout drink. Have it approximately 30 minutes before you are due to start training.A slightly heaped scoop of the supplied spoon will give you 5g of creatine. Which is what the majority of people take.It also gives you 80-90mg of caffeine, which I feel is a good amount. Enough to give you a lift, but not too much, and have you bouncing of off the walls.Like all creatine, it mixes very easily. You can just stir it into any liquid, and it dissolves immediately. Taste is very neutral. It just tastes like slightly odd water.Certainly not unpleasant.Overall, if you are looking to get your daily creatine dose, and particularly on training days, you could do a lot worse than purchase this. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Great product This review is for the Warrior Creatine Monohydrate Powder + Energy 360g.Nice creatine, good quality and well made. Nice size tub. Will be using going forward. Mixes nice and easy. Good for the price and taste fine. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Energy Boost with a Caveat. Great for Workouts, Less So for Sugar Control I ordered the Warrior Creatine Monohydrate + Energy powder for my son to support his daily fitness routine. He’s pleased with the added caffeine, which gives a noticeable lift before training, and the unflavoured formula mixes easily with his usual shake. However, he’s less keen on the inclusion of maltodextrin, as it can affect blood sugar levels. Something to be mindful of if you're watching your intake. Overall, it’s a solid pre-workout option with good performance support, but not ideal for those sensitive to fast-acting carbs. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Good item! I’ve been using the Warrior Creatine Monohydrate Powder alongside my workouts for a few weeks now, and it’s definitely helped boost my performance. The 360g tub offers a generous 80 servings, which is great value. I appreciate that it’s unflavoured, so I can easily mix it with my usual pre-workout drinks without any weird taste. The added caffeine and vitamins give me a good energy kick before training, and I’ve noticed quicker muscle recovery afterwards. It’s simple to use and dissolves well in water. Overall, it’s a solid pre-workout supplement that really supports my fitness goals without unnecessary extras. I’d recommend it for anyone serious about performance and recovery. Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Some energy benefits but didn't suit me I've never taken a creatine supplement before and unfortunately I probably won't again. It really didn't agree with me.I tried the unflavoured version of this Warrior-branded powder. I mixed the dose in a glass of blackcurrant cordial and drank it about 30 minutes before my first workout. I did feel a slight increase in general energy which I think I would attribute to the caffeine. The second day, I had a stomach ache - and the same on the third, at which point I've stopped using this. I'm presuming I just have some sort of intolerance to creatine as I've taken multivitamins in the past and I've been practically coffee-powered for most of my life!A neutral 3 stars. There seems to be a benefit but I can't test it long enough to verify. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Really good creatine supplement with added extras I’ve been using the Warrior creatine monohydrate + energy powder before my daily workouts, and I think I feel like it's been giving me a boost and making my them easier - especially weight training. The added caffeine and vitamins make it feel more like a pre-workout, so I have more energy and focus during training. Being unflavoured, it mixes easily with juice or a shake without changing the taste much. The 360 g tub goes a long way, giving around 80 servings, which makes it good value. It’s not an instant miracle, but I’ve felt quicker recovery between sessions and more strength in my lifts. I think that it's a great creatine supplement if you want an extra kick. Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Creatine Monohydrate Powder + I got this for my wife as she is currently on a weight loss/muscle building programme and she is going to the gym very day and doing swimming everyday too .You get a large pot of 360 grams and it also includes a scoop tooMixes in really well with hot or cold fluids and there is no real taste which there shouldn't be as it is the "unflavoured" variant .Hard to say if its helped or not , , because the fitter she gets the more energy she has anyway etc etc , but she thinks it seems to help herThe wife really likes this and will probably get some more when she runs out, as it is pretty good value too Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Nice supplement supporting your gym workouts,. Nice to have a creatine supp that is flavour free making it possible to mix into any drink (even coffee!!) without altering the flavour.Quality appears to be good and I'm seeing moderate improvements in stamina at the gym Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Great value I'm so surprised this is genuinely unflavoured, I've had a few products that claim to be but there's always a hint of something...not so with this which tastes like nothing!I don't know if it's a placebo effect but I definitely feel like this gives me a little extra oomph, I have 3 hours of aerial classes on a Thursday and normally I'm knackered by class 2 but after taking this I still felt upbeat on my walk home - it's probably a placebo effect but I'll take it!It dissolves easily in water, no need for a "proper" shaker, although in water I did have to drink it quick otherwise I'd get settlement at the bottom of my glass. Since I'm confident it has no taste I've been putting a spoon into my tea instead and it dissolves perfectly.80 servings for just over Β£8 is fantastic value!Comes in a resealable tub which I prefer over the bags and mine had a long shelf life - 2.5 years! Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Best value creatine! After using this powder for a couple of weeks, I would say that overall I think it’s a really solid option if you want something simple and effective and that's not overloaded with gimmicks. First thing to mention is the flavour (or lack of it, since this is supposed to be unflavoured). Honestly, I would say it’s not completely flavourless, there’s a tiny bit of a twang when you have it with plain water. Nothing unpleasant but you can tell it’s there. For me, it’s perfectly drinkable, just not quite "unflavoured."The way that it mixes is really good, it dissolves into nothing with a good bit of stirring, no big clumps, no gritty bits sitting at the bottom of the cup. I liked that a lot because I've tried a lot of powders and finished it to find half the powder just... stuck to the sides and bottom. This one blends really smoothly and it goes down easy.In terms of how it works, the creatine does what you’d expect. Maybe a placebo but I do feel as if my recovery between sessions feels better and I can push through sets with a bit more gusto. It’s not really some dramatic, overnight transformation, nothing ever is so I'd certainly be wary if it was for Β£8.90, but with consistency and sticking with it, it really does help. The caffeine is also a nice touch but albeit a little one. It's 80mg per scoop so it’s more of a gentle pick-me-up than a hardcore buzz. Some people may prefer that as it's steady energy without the jitters or the crash but if you’re used to big caffeine hits, you might find it a little mild and underwhelming.Value is definitely one of the strongest points. This has 80 servings in the tub so it lasts a good while even if you’re using it daily and the cost per serving works out really reasonable.Downsides... not really many. There is the faint taste in water and the caffeine dose might be too light for some but that’s about it. For the price, it's nothing to complain about. I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a cheap creatine that’s easy to drink and gives you a bit of an energy lift too. It’s not flashy (the tub is though!) but it does its job well. Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Easy to mix Tastes very nice and easy to use. I mix with my fruit in the morning and it’s great for my daily workout. Good size tub. Easy to open and close. Good quality creatine. Excellent value for money and good as part of my daily supplement. Pleased and would recommend. Flavour: Unflavoured

Warrior Creatine Plus Energy (Unflavoured)

Solid Pre-Workout Creatine with Energy β€” High Impact, Taste Trade-offs SummaryThis Warrior Creatine + Energy (80 servings) combines creatine monohydrate with caffeine and vitamins. It boosts strength and stamina noticeably. Energy kick is real. Unflavoured version mixes well. However, flavoured versions are very sweet. You’ll need to balance with hydration, and effects taper off without consistent training.InsightsAfter a week of use: lifts felt stronger, less fatigue during high-rep sets.Energy blend helps with alertness in mornings or late workouts, but sometimes jittery if taken too late in day.Unflavoured version is much easier to mix with water / shakes, without weird aftertaste. Flavoured ones have strong sweetness that some may dislike.Creatine tends to cause water retention early on. Felt a bit bloated around abs for first few days. That eased.Value is good: high serving count, clean formulation if you stick with unflavoured. Flavour: Unflavoured
