FAQs

Why combine creatine and electrolytes?

Two reasons. Practically, it turns two products into one daily habit — one pack, half a sachet a day. Mechanistically, creatine enters muscle via a sodium-dependent transporter, so the electrolytes aren’t riding along; they’re part of how it works.

How much creatine and how many electrolytes are in a serving?

3g of micronised creatine monohydrate — the daily intake at which the EFSA-authorised performance effect is obtained* — plus a 175mg electrolyte complex of sodium, potassium and magnesium. 30 servings per 360g tub.

Do I need to take it every day?

Yes. Creatine works through consistent daily use, so take one serving daily, including non-training days. Saturation, not timing, is what drives the results.

Is it enough hydration on its own for hard sessions?

For daily training, yes — the sodium–potassium–magnesium complex supports normal hydration. For very long, hot or extreme-sweat sessions (marathons, fight camps in the heat) you may still want additional dedicated hydration on top.

Will it break a fast, and is it sugar-free?

Every flavour is sugar-free with effectively zero calories, so it fits fasted training and won’t load your daily drink with sugar. It’s also gluten-free and non-GMO.

Do I need a loading phase?

No. Taking your daily serving consistently gradually tops up the creatine stored in your muscles over around three to four weeks. A loading phase (around 20 g a day for a week) gets there faster, but it isn't needed, and larger single doses are more likely to upset your stomach.

Should I take it before or after training?

Whenever suits you best. Studies comparing creatine taken just before or just after training have found similar results, and expert reviews conclude that taking it consistently every day matters more than the exact timing. On rest days, take your serving at any convenient time. Many people find it easiest to have it with a meal.

I missed a day. Should I double up?

No need to double up. Creatine works by gradually topping up the creatine stored in your muscles, and those stores fall slowly. Studies show they take around four to six weeks to return to normal after stopping completely, so one missed day makes very little difference. Just take your usual serving the next day and carry on. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.

Will creatine make me bloated or gain weight?

Some people notice a small rise in weight in the first week or so, mostly water held in the muscles. It's seen mainly with high-dose “loading” of around 20 g a day. Studies using lower daily amounts over several weeks have generally not found meaningful changes in body water, and research has not found that creatine increases body fat. Large single doses (10 g or more) are more likely to upset the stomach; our recommended daily serving is well below that.

Can I take creatine with coffee?

Yes, most people can. One small 1996 study suggested very high caffeine intakes might blunt creatine during a high-dose loading phase. Later studies using coffee or caffeine have not consistently found this, and a recent expert review concluded the two are unlikely to work against each other at normal intakes. A few people report mild stomach discomfort taking them together. If that's you, take them at different times of day.

Is creatine suitable for women?

Yes. Creatine has been studied in both men and women, and the same daily serving applies. Take it every day, including rest days; there is no need to time it to your cycle. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP before use.

Does creatine cause hair loss?

This worry comes from a single 2009 study of 20 rugby players taking high doses, which found a rise in DHT, a hormone linked to male-pattern hair loss. That study didn't measure hair. A 2025 randomised controlled trial in men taking 5 g a day for 12 weeks found no difference in DHT, hair density or hair thickness compared with a placebo. Research has not found that creatine causes hair loss, though studies are limited. If you're concerned about hair loss, speak to your GP.

Does creatine harm your kidneys?

Studies in healthy adults taking recommended amounts have not found that creatine harms kidney function. Creatine can raise creatinine, the marker used in routine blood tests to estimate kidney function, so results can appear lower than they really are. If you're having a kidney blood test, tell your doctor you take creatine. If you have a kidney condition, diabetes or high blood pressure, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under 18, speak to your GP before use.

Off the shelf. Into the routine.

The Mechanism

Why creatine + electrolytes beats creatine alone

01

Creatine alone is leaky

Creatine crosses into muscle via a sodium-dependent transporter (CRT-1). Without sodium and chloride ions, uptake measurably collapses — Dai (1999) recorded a 47% drop when those ions are missing.

CRT-1

02

Electrolytes open the door

Two sodium ions plus one chloride move with each creatine molecule — confirmed by Yang et al. (2025) cryo-EM. The electrolyte complex isn’t a flavour add-on; it’s part of the absorption mechanism.

2Na\u207A + Cl\u207B

03

Stacked, the data is louder

Hummer (2019): creatine + electrolytes drove +13.4% back squat 1RM and +26% concentric work over six weeks vs placebo. Crisafulli (2018) independently replicated +4–5% cycling power.

+13.4% 1RM

Hydration is half the job

175mg of electrolytes, in every sachet

2%

Body-mass dehydration is all it takes to measurably impair attention, memory and mood (Adan, J Am Coll Nutr 2012).

47%

Drop in creatine uptake when sodium and chloride ions are missing — the transport mechanism needs the minerals (Dai 1999).

60%

Higher whole-body creatine retention when co-ingested so insulin and ion gradients are working for you, not against you (Green 1996).

What you sweat out, back in the sachet

Na\u207A Sodium

The uptake driver

Drives fluid absorption and is the ion the CRT-1 creatine transporter depends on. It’s also the electrolyte you lose most in sweat — the reason hydration brands build whole products around it.

K\u207A Potassium

The balance keeper

Works opposite sodium to maintain fluid balance inside cells and support normal muscle contraction — including the one that matters most, your heart.

Mg\u00B2\u207A Magnesium

The work-horse mineral

Contributes to normal muscle function, electrolyte balance and reduced tiredness and fatigue — and it’s one of the minerals hard training runs down fastest.

Foggy mornings

Brain fuel for the hard days

Gordji-Nejad (2024): a single creatine dose before 21 hours of sleep deprivation raised brain phosphocreatine, dropped subjective fatigue and beat baseline processing speed.

Strength and power

Half a sachet in 300–500ml of cold water, 30–60 minutes before. Hummer (2019): +13.4% back squat 1RM and +26% concentric work over six weeks vs placebo.

03

Post-training

Recovery and retention

Co-ingesting creatine with carbs raises whole-body retention ~60% (Green 1996) — and the electrolyte complex keeps the ion gradients running so more of what you take lands in muscle.

04

Daily maintenance

The unsexy one that matters most

Half a sachet, every day, rest days included. The long-tail benefits only show up if you stay saturated — and the ISSN position stand supports long-term daily use as safe.

Timing

Take it at a consistent time. Most people take it in the morning, or before/after training.

Results

Benefits typically show in 2–3 weeks, with full saturation around week 4.

Loading

No loading phase required. A standard 3g daily serving reaches saturation without GI discomfort or water-weight spikes.

Backed by Science
Creatine monohydrate is the most tested supplement in sport — decades of peer-reviewed evidence behind one effect: more output in short, hard efforts. The practical challenge was never the evidence. It was making the habit simple enough to keep. Pairing the proven 3g dose with the electrolytes that drive its own transporter solves both at once.

Creatine and Electrolytes - essentials for a good gym session The two ingredients in this supplement are creatine and electrolytes which I think are two of the most essential supplements for someone who is looking to make gym sessions both more effective and enjoyable.Creatine in these sachets is a relatively modest 3.7g, meaning you can have two in a day without issue. The great thing is the convenience of just chucking the sachets into my gym bag and not worrying about preparing my drink before I leave the house. The taste is good, not artificial tasting and the warrior brand always seems to be high quality from my experience. At about £10 on offer for 15 sachets this is great value for money and the sachets are a nice small size to slip into a pocket.Happy to recommend.

Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes – 15 Sachet Pack (30 Servings)

Good I'm drinking this as we speak, I've been looking into the benefits of Creatine, not only for gym but also for cognitive purposes. It's hard to actually gauge whether it's making a difference this early on but while it is a little on the sweet side, it does make a nice drink and it's good value for money too. Time will tell in terms of the cognitive / gym benefits however but it can't do any harm

Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes – 15 Sachet Pack (30 Servings)

Great little boost before training Really impressed with these. The sachets are super handy — no scoops, no mess, just tear and mix. The creatine dose is spot-on for a daily top-up, and the added electrolytes actually make a difference, especially on days I’m sweating more. Mixed Berry flavour is smooth and not overly sweet, and it dissolves properly without that gritty creatine texture you get with some brands. Zero sugar is a big plus too.Overall, easy to use, tastes good, and I feel noticeably better hydrated and more consistent in the gym. Will definitely buy again.

Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes – 15 Sachet Pack (30 Servings)

Great sachets Another brilliant product from the Warrior range ... this is a handy box of single shot creatine sachets, 15 in total. Simply add to water and mix up for a nice tasting and effective pre-workout boost. I definitely noticed an improvement in my stamina and energy levels. This version contains electrolytes to replace lost hydration and you wouldn't notice it, there is no difference to the taste and it's actually very pleasant to drink. Very convenient and comprehensive pre-workout formula. I would recommend these

Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes – 15 Sachet Pack (30 Servings)

Great product I’ve tried the Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes sachets once so far. I love that they come in single-serve packets - it makes life much easier when you’re not at home or don’t want to carry a big tub of powder. Super convenient for the gym bag, travel, or just keeping a couple in your pocket. The flavour isn’t the best, but I expected that since I’ve already tried their standalone creatine in Mixed Berry, and it was pretty similar. To be fair, creatine is rarely fantastic on its own anyway. The good news is it mixes really well with juice, squash, or even protein shakes, and tastes much better that way.The idea of this product is great - creatine and electrolytes in one quick drink is excellent for strength sessions, hydration, and recovery. Zero sugar is a bonus, too. Overall, really handy and effective, especially if you want creatine and can take it on the go.

Warrior Creatine Plus Electrolytes – 15 Sachet Pack (30 Servings)

2 products in 1 handy sachet, which taste great This creatine powder plus electrolytes tastes really good. There is no strong salt taste, like you can get with normal electrolytes, and it has a nice berry flavour. It's simple to prepare, coming in ready to use sachets which are easy to open. Just add to water, give it a good stir (or shake) and it's good to go.I use this during exercise and have found it to be refreshing, and I have maintained my rate of exercise without becoming too fatigued. I use electrolytes as I can suffer from muscle cramps and this drink has been as effective in preventing that as any other that I have used. I like that it's creatine and electrolytes, which means that I don't have to use 2 separate products. This appears quite pricey at £14.99 for 15 sachets but it is saving me having to buy 2 different products meaning that it actually works out better value for money. It's handy to keep sachets in my gym bag, too.
